Reviews

I cannot recommend Biocraft - they are expensive and are slow to respond.

They recommended that we fix our rising damp. But for this they needed to remove some render from the wall, to determine where the damp proof course lay. The cost of this was £288. We agreed to this, because we were told that this money would come off the total cost.

Biocraft spent a maximum of 15 minutes on removing render, starting very high up and taking off much more than necessary as the damp proof course was only inches off the ground.

The quote that followed was significantly higher than any previous estimates we had from others. We asked them for their best price as we had lower competing quotes. The final price was then confirmed 56 days after I asked them for it, they were so difficult to get hold of and unresponsive on email. The total price seemed extortionate. We didn’t want to proceed with this work based on our experience so far.

We got the same work done by a reputable builder plus further remedial work for half of the price, and he did a fantastic job.

I am sorry that you feel disappointed with the service we provided. We initially visited your property on 28th April 21 We identified condensation dampness, bridging dpc, defective external render and elevated external ground levels as the cause of the dampness in your property. In the report dated 13 May we provided a written quote to carry out an invasive survey to determine location of the physical dpc and determine the extent of the defective render. The £240+VAT for the invasive survey is a fixed price we charge for this service and does not include for any making good. The survey was to remove a section of external render to determine the presence and position of a the physical DPC. In addition, we carried out a ladder access inspection of defective render at high level to determine the nature of the issue and what would be needed to do to repair. It was a two person visit to provide safe ladder access to the area of defective render. We carried out the invasive survey on 17 June 21 and you had a written report and quote on the 24th of June. The written quote for this service was given to you on 13 May and on 26 May I replied to one of your many emails to tell you that the cost of the survey would be refunded against the French drain/bridging render works. The cost of this survey was given to you in writing before the survey was carried out and you had the opportunity to contact other suppliers to get comparable quotes. Without knowledge of the presence and location of the physical dpc it was not possible to quote for removal of the bridging render and making good or quote for the French drain. I spoke to your partner shortly after you received the quote for the remedial works and he asked if we could reduce the cost and I told him that was very little we could do on price. As your partner said that you had already had cheaper quotes I suggested that if cost was the main issue for you, that you should instruct the other contractor to carry out the works. I am glad that you had the necessary works carried out that by a reputable builder and thank you for paying your outstanding invoice on 9 Nov 21.

Damp proofing works

5
Martin and his team at Biocraft have recently completed various repair works to my house, including repairs to my rotted timber sub floor, and damp proofing works.

Having initially received several large quotes from other damp proofing companies, I contacted Biocraft, who not only provided me with a more realistic quote, but a more personal service.

All works were completed to a high standard, by professional, hardworking and friendly workmen.

Importantly, the communication I have had with Martin and his team before, throughout, and after the work has been outstanding, from answering the many questions I had, to keeping me informed at every stage of the process.

I feel confident in all work they have performed and would have no hesitation in recommending Biocraft in the future.

Finally, thank you Martin and everyone at Biocraft for all your advice and hard work.

Brilliant Lime Rendering

5
Biocraft have done a great job with our external lime rendering, their workmen are prompt, reliable, respectful and tidy. Above all very knowledgeable with the product that is no longer used widely. We really appreciate the effort that was put in by all Biocraft personnel and would whole heartedly recommend them.
