I called 6 companies for quotes for boiler service. 1 was unobtainable, on another I left a message but no one came back to me. Of the remaining 4, one could have been indifferent for Europe, and the others quoted me between £79.00 - £89.00 despite the fact that 2 are far closer to me

Then Colin arrived! Well below on price, so far above in quality. The last time my boiler was serviced a young male arrived, spent 35 minutes twiddling knobs and nuts (on the boiler) then declared it done. Colin stayed just over an hour, tested the external meter, dismantled the boiler for a thorough check and hoovered afterwards.

A 10 star score for a top-table job. It didn't hurt that he was on time, courteous without being stuffy, and very helpful apropos the possible ways forward with my current boiler. Being a travelled man himself, he perfectly understood my need to balance possible new boiler versus my next long-haul solo travel plans. Sorry Colin, Japan has it this year. !
