Do not go till after Covid ! Nothing happening appart from taking your monies !

We booked on line which said there was staggered entry ? Five of us wasted our money ! Cafe closed at the entrance when we wanted refreshment after the drive. Very little staff evident dressed in the period costume which used to create the atmosphere. Only saw seven in the whole place not counting the three serving in the town cafe. No trams, steam trains at all running. Only one blue double decker bus and a yellow disabled only bus running the few visitor around the circular road. No events happening at all. Had to inform the three staff of four big lads entering the houses without face masks ! I had challenged them myself at aged 66 ! You can guess the big lads response to me ! No sign of anything been run on the railway rails for months ? Is this buisiness viable anymore I may ask ? Would not have gone had there been any truthful indication on the Webb site ! Value for money was in line with the face masks "robbery" !

A step back in time

Such a lovely place to visit with your children or on your own
The place is so informative with displays of days gone by all over the place.
Staff walk around in costumes and are very friendly
Nice to watch them making homemade sweets or fancy a chippy like they used to make
A day trip is not enough so best to spend two days or more, lots to see and do
Venture down the Pit to give you an impression of what it was like for miners.
Lovely gift shop although they could be doing with bringing their prices down a bit.
The place is so good we keep coming back
