I took a strimmer to this firm for service and repair having ascertained on the telephone that it was ok to do so. As soon as I appeared at the counter an assistant, without examining it, said " the best thing you could do with that is to put it in the bin". That may well be the case, but, firstly he did not even examine it and secondly, would it not have been better customer relations to have given it a quick inspection and then said "quite honestly it will be more expensive to repair than it is worth. Should you decide to replace it, I would be pleased to show you some alternatives that we have in stock". This gentleman needs to go on a public relations course. I sent an e mail expressing my disatisfaction but did not receive an acknowledgement. I feel disinclined to visit again, which is a great pity as they appeared to have a good array of stock and, unusually, a spacious car park.

Long story short.

..... having been recently confronted with the "Do I fix it after all these years of good service or is it time to replace it" conundrum, it was an absolute pleasure to find a company where good and considerate advice was plentiful and hard sell wasn't. After understanding my needs and issues a new purchase was made within budget and one very satisfied customer walked out the door. Very happy and will certainly be going back when the occasion arises. Thank you Banks GM

First Class Service

Was pleasantly surprised when entering Banks Garden Machinery. The plain exterior hides a clean and well displayed showroom, not always the case when visiting Lawnmowers Shops! Owner was friendly and very knowledgable about what was required, offering advice without being too pushy. Ended up buying an Efco Chainsaw which has been a great purchase.
Would definitely recommend this company!
