Absolutely first class!
My mare was very poorly, and Avenue vets were the epitome of caring. From the staff on reception to Neil & Kirsty. They helped in every way the could, the were on hand any time I needed them. Unfortunately I had to make the difficult decision to have her put to sleep, one of the hardest things I've had to do. Neil was so professional and exceptional in his work, it made for a less painful send off. All my family were with her and she went so peacefully. Neil and Kirsty even sent us a card. I can't thank them enough for helping us through a painful time.

High fees

Not very impressed. Phoned up to book an appointment with my 2 dogs one a border terrier and the other a min pin to get their toe nails clipped. Had to go through a lengthy procedure of registering them over the phone even though I explained that I was on a touring holiday. I asked how much and was told £8 per dog. Had to wait a long time for my appointment when I got there and no one apologised behind reception and the staff were messing and joking about. Not very professional. Then when I went to pay I was told it was £23 because one of the dogs was difficult but not too difficult that they had to get staff to hold it instead of me and nothing was mentioned to me that it was going to cost more. No wonder there are so many abandoned dogs when poor people get charged like this out of the blue. By the way forgot to mention that for the so called difficult dog I was told before she started cutting them that they all didn't need doing and weren't all done!

Hi there, sorry it has taken a while to respond to you the ability to reply has only just been made available. Firstly thank you for your comments. We always appreciate feedback from our clients. To reply to your problems one by one firstly - we must register all clients properly onto our computer system before we can see you. This is both for our records and for your protection. Whether a one off visitor or a long standing client we must always have full details of client and pets. Secondly - we would always give out an estimated cost of certain procedures. Like anything that requires expertise sometimes things can take longer than expected and can become more difficult. This can be the case in many occupations but especially when working with animals. We do our best to inform people in advance about the cost of their treatments but it is not always possible to predict what may be involved. Thanks again for your comments.
