Just under 2 years ago AVS fitted a new clutch, slave and master cylinder to my Ford. 22 months and 15K miles later, the clutch failed. The car was taken to another local garage for the same work to be carried out again (charging £120 less for the same job). Since a clutch should last longer than it did, I wanted to find out the reason why and requested details of the parts fitted. AVS advised the part number of the clutch and this was identified as being from Luk, makers of clutch parts for Ford. However, the failed clutch that was removed from my car, was actually made by AP so something was amiss here. Twice I requested invoice information from AVS regarding the part they had fitted but I received no reply from the garage. So, won’t be going back to AVS!
