Business overview

Helping Neurodiverse families across Scotland to connect the dots.

Being a Neurodivergent parent carer to an autistic teen can bring its own challenges, these lived experiences I share with you through the services I provide. When you’re struggling with whatever life throws your way, a confidential, non-judgmental, compassionate individual with over 20 years’ experience in the Health & Social Care sector who can work with you in a place of your choosing, that immediately puts you at ease is what you would be looking for. Someone who allows you that safe space to express your feelings, so that together a way forward that suits your specific needs can be found. Whether it be emotional, physical, physiological, psychological, or just general support. Getting the right help from a professional who has the skills and expertise to sit, listen, & work with you with a commitment to understand & help you alleviate your issues can be what you need to bring about a positive change in your life.

With qualifications in Health & Social Care as well as in a range of Neurodiverse Conditions, I have extensive knowledge & experience in this field. Working with & personal experience with Autistic & Neurodivergent individuals, some of whom presenting with various mental health conditions ranging from mild to severe in terms of complexity has provided further insight and expertise. I have worked in the third sector & the Local Authority over the years and I have been the founder & chair to a non profit peer support group for those affected by Neurodiverse Conditions, Autism and other Disabilities/Conditions for 7 years.

I am committed to providing a quality service that you can trust, therefore you can rest assured that I am fully insured & registered with the Federation of Small Businesses (F.S.B), Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action (A.V.A) & the Information Commissioners Office.

Best thing I've done for myself

5
Felt very comfortable talking and opening up about myself.
Had alot of information explained in a way I could understand.
I would definitely recommend to anyone, who needed support and assessments. I'm very glad I went through this process for myself, and very grateful I felt supported.

Great support at the Alford Mini Bull Run 2022

5
ASCS-S attended the Alford Mini Bull Run in 2022 (running event for primary age children in Aberdeenshire) and were able to provide support to a number of children who attended this event. They provided a quiet zone where children with learning difficulties could escape to, in what is normally a busy chaotic event. Lisa is a quiet and calm individual with plenty of experience and was a great help on the day. Many thanks!

Such a triumphant event organised by an inspirational team and enjoyed by so many. It was an honour and a privilege to be invited to such a joyful community spirited event. 🫶💙

Lisa has the specialist knowledge and advocacy skills to help make things happen!!

5
ASCSS has been a huge source of support and advocacy for my entire family. The work has been paced to fit my individual needs with no pressure to rush but with helpful, polite nudges to keep me on track with my goals. The advocacy services that I have used so far have been successful in accessing services from the Education Department and assessments from the Local Authority that I as an individual had been unable to obtain despite being a health and social care professional myself!!
I have been so impressed by Lisa’s knowledge of legislation and how to go about getting things done. When you are already overwhelmed by the challenges of being a carer trying to navigate your way through how to actually get the right support for your children and your self it’s such a relief to have someone share the load and do things on your behalf!
Just Email Lisa and she gets it done for you!!

Autistic advocacy and advice

5
Professional, knowledgeable and compassionate service. Lisa was my advocate at child social work meetings, and supported me to get a package to meet my child’s needs and aspirations. Without Lisa, I wouldn’t have managed this. She listens first, then transfers it into options, actions and results.
