Excellent service

ATS Huddersfield, brilliant staff, very reasonably priced, would highly recommend as a woman taking your car there. I normally hate taking my car to the garage as I feel women on their own sometimes get ripped off. Not at ATS.

I went here on a Monday for an MOT and an oil change. My MOT passed (my car has only 27,000 miles on the clock) and I got the better quality oil. Whilst driving home on Wednesday my oil warning light came on, smoke came billowing out of my car and it started rattling like there was no oil in the car.

The weights are changed on your wheel when a new tyre is fitted (balancing)
Nothing to do with tracking!!

Very suspicious. Carried out unauthorised work. Avoid ATS Huddersfield

I originally gave ATS Huddersfield the benefit of the doubt when they told me that a slow puncture (on a tyre that was hardly worn) required a replacement due to tyre wall damage. I didn't know that was untrue, and so I put it down to bad luck and paid for a new tyre.
A couple of months later I took my car back to have the front tyres replaced. I was informed that the tyre they had replaced on the previous visit (which was still almost brand new) once again had unrepairable damage to the tyre wall and would need to be replaced. I realise that this is possible, but their claim that the exact same type of "unrepairable" damage was sustained to exactly the same point (inside wall) on new tyres on the same wheel arouses suspicions.
Again I had no proof that the tyre hadn't genuinely been damaged, and so I said that I'd pay. At this point I was asked whether I wanted the tracking realigning as they'd noticed that it was slighly out, but I declined the opportunity to throw good money after bad.
A couple of days after my car was returned, I notice that weights had clearly been added and then removed from my wheels (my car was quite new and had never had the tracking realigned, and as I wash my car by hand I know exactly what the wheels look like) despite the fact that I had not authorised the tracking alteration.
I have no proof of any of this beyond my own observations and suspicions, but I would urge anyone to think very carefully before using ATS Huddersfield.
