Mike Smith-Wood has over 35 years experience of furniture restoration and cabinet making. He provides a full range of services ranging from the complete restoration of an antique piece of furniture to repairs of scratches, breaks, splits, missing veneers, watermarks, stains or burns to surfaces.
Great care is taken with all restoration commissions with expert judgement based on extensive experience. Clients include antique dealers and private individuals in Cheltenham, the Cotswolds and London. All work is carried out to the highest of standards.
He trained as a cabinet maker at Rycotewood College and went on to specialise in Antique Furniture Restoration at West Dean College, Chichester, gaining a B.A.D.A. Diploma. Mike spent 11 yrs in Japan where his clients included leading Japanese antique dealers. He has been based at his current premises in Suffolk Road, Cheltenham since 1990 trading as the Antique Restoration Centre.
