Business overview
“We are a traditional Greek restaurant. We pride ourselves on the atmosphere, cuisine and hospitality we provide. Our customers always leave fulfilled and extremely satisfied with the food and experience. Many over the years have complimented and admired the fact that Andy’s Taverna is a little piece of Greece, they adore the holiday feeling and tasty food they receive when in a taverna in Greece, instead we’re right here in Camden Town, London”

We received a very warm welcome when we went here. Staff was really polite. I like the place for how it’s very decently decorated. Menu looked great, most of the things I never tried. For starters we ordered garides grilled and it was goof in portions and tasted great. For main course I had T-bone steak and my husband had baked lamb which he said he really liked. My steak was cooked so well with amazing mix of ingredients. Wines were great. We had a great dinner there. Highly recommended!

We read some reviews about it and thought to give it a try and we were totally impressed by this place. Place was small but very beautifully decorated in a Greek style. Staff was so attentive and helpful. We had fried halloumi and tzanziki for starters. For main course we had tuna steak and salmon fillet. Food was very good in taste, authentic Greek taste. Portions were so generous and most of all, reasonably priced. Wine list was brilliant. We had a very good time there and I would love to visit this place again.

I went here with a friend for lunch. We have always been a fan of Greek food and this place was one of the best we have had. Staff was really attentive, they seated us and explained is about the menu. I had their 3 course set menu. It was amazing. Sword fish was something I liked the most. Authentic Greek food and reasonably priced, we loved this place and we are definitely returning.

Excellent food

The food was amazing. I really liked the starters , the dips , the warm bread. We were a party of 4 so we took the meat meze. In the begging the starters came 3 dips with warm bread followed by a big platter of a combination of meat including pork kebab, chicken kebab and lamp kebab. Also it had lamp chops and some sausage. A huge bowl of greek salad with feta cheese . And after that a big chunk of lamp leg came ( it was called kleftiko) very nice. Honestly after all this food were stuffed we stayed there after we finished about 30 mins to let the food to go down. Also a good selection of deserts ( if you had any space left on your stomach). Finally good selection of greek wines and greek beers. And the price we paid was exceptional for the amount of food we ate... I recommend going there because the atmosphere was very homely .

Cozy and great service

Convenient for the Jazz Cafe and good to know about, considering the dearth of good, cheap restaurants in the Camden Town area, Andy's is cozy and the food is very good, albeit not the very best Greek meal I've ever had.
The staff absolutely dote on you, a rarity for cheaper places in London. Our meal was unbelievably cheap - 35 pounds for two, including a bottle of retsina (traditional pine resin flavoured white wine) - and we left the restaurant bowling over our stomachs, we were so satiated.
My boyfriend loved the meal, but I felt that I was a bit pickier and thought that while our mixed platter to share (hummus, tarama, tzatziki, sausage, lamb chops, meatballs and shish) was very good, the hummus could have been a bit better, the meatballs were... questionable, and the french fries (chips for the Brits ;P)were slightly undercooked.
However, these are just minor complaints, and while the fare is by no means fancy, you leave feeling as if you just had dinner in a family's home and very happy indeed.
