Always a pleasure going to this store. From buying a single washer to ordering a full bathroom suite the staff are really knowledgable and give every customer plenty of time to get what they need.

Great customer service gets my vote of confidence.

I came to this shop looking for a screw. Walking down Henrietta Street, the smell of curried fish wafting down the road from a rather excellent chippy located opposite All-In-One, before I went in to the shop I held in mind a number of anxieties. My previous experience with hardware retailers had been beastly, and seemed to confirm the idea that men employed in such professions were loutish, unhelpful individuals much more concerned with entertaining a vicious (and seemingly endless) debate on football results rather than helping prospective customers with inquiries.
Miraculously, all these prejudices and prevarications were both validated and dispelled within a few minutes of walking through the door. There were two young gentleman serving upon my entrance, about the same age and height, although their the similarities starkly ended. One looked as though he had only just awoken from a heavy slumber - the time was half-past three in the afternoon. As I walked in the door he gave a contemptuous tilt of his head in my direction, before casting his gaze back back to the cigarette he was busy rolling beside the till. I walked up to the desk and politely asked for a screw, about so long to go with my Ikea bookcase. The young man looked up at me again, a fag now lolling from the corner of his sullen mouth, astounded, it seemed, that anyone could have the audacity to launch such an inquest. No answer was received as he trotted out the front door, lit his cigarette and began loudly conversing with one of the locals who lived across the street.
At this point I was ready to walk out the door, find my solution at B&Q and give this little shop the dressing down I thought it deserved online. But just then, as I was about to leave crestfallen, I saw the other young man, bespectacled and busying himself with stock in the corner, suddenly come flying to my assistance. He spoke clearly and eloquently, fielding all my questions with an unassuming mastery of his trade, (and was quite a handsome devil to boot). I marched out of the shop in high spirits. All-In-One DIY I salute you.

Excellent - top rate customer service

Without exaggerating, this shop offers the best customer service that I have ever experienced in a shop.

I have lived in the area for 5 years and in that time have undertaken two major house refurbishment projects. Not only have they supplied me with materials, they have also always been willing to offer top rate advice, even when it has meant that I have spent less in their shop as a result. For example, I went in there to buy a new radiator, ended up have a chat to them about my central heating system and they gave me some great advice about rebalancing my whole system and cleaning it. The result? I did what they suggested and didn't need to spend a penny. This is typical of the kind of service they offer - they really know their stuff and genuinely like helping.

That level of customer service is rare these days (don't even get me started on B&Q!)

The only downside I can think of is that because they're so good, they're always pretty busy and you have to wait your turn. People travel for miles to go there.

Friendly, helpful family-run business

I felt compelled to write this review having read the previous one, which really surprised me. I have lived in the area for over 11 years, and have been fortunate to have All-In-One nearby when going through house refurbishment and every day crises.

Once, some kids put chewing gum in my lock and couldn't get the key in. One of the current co-owners came and changed the lock for me with one from stock and didn't even charge me. I'm not saying they offer this service all the time, but..

They do excellent key cutting too, lowest price I have found and keys always work, which they haven't always from other places. Most things you need when doing a job - they stock it.

Also, they have been unfailingly friendly over the last decade or more; you couldn't meet a more laid back, mild-mannered staff really. On a daily basis tradespeople pull up their vans on the corner stocking up for the day. It is a busy shop and well-used by the local community.

Sorry abut the previous reviewer's experience; I can only think everyone was having a bad day. Most people living around here would rate them highly.
