No guarantee on batteries.
Just phoned to see if they would guarantee my Rotary watch battery for longer than the 7 months it has lasted to be told it was the watch's fault for draining the battery too quickly. Obviously I won't be going there again .Don't they care that all their reviews are one star?

Untrustworthy shop
Paid for a new watch battery to be fitted December 2014. A few weeks later watch stopped working. Went back to shop and was told nothing wrong with battery and watch needed a service. Checked battery ourselves and found that the "new" battery they had fitted was old and tarnished-after a quick sanding battery and watch working again. Not to be trusted and would never go here ever again.

Do Not Buy from Alfred Peters
I bought a watch from Alfred Peters. After almost a year the time stopped. I thought batteries were supposed to last longer than that but hoped that was the only problem. I brought it back to Alfred Peters who kept it for 3 weeks and rang to say that the battery had been replaced at the cost of £25. I regret not keeping the receipt because less than 2 months later the time on the watch stopped again. I brought it back to the shop, which kept it for another 3 weeks. They rang me and told me the battery had been replaced. I then told them that the battery had been replaced less than two months ago and the guy on the phone said their battery guy would sort it out. I then got a call from the manageress who said that they wouldn’t take it back to the battery guy, and that it would go for a service. She implied that the lack of receipt ‘Wouldn’t be a problem’. I thought that having spent just under £3,000 for a watch that they would look at their books (I know they write everything down, I’ve seen that book) and sort out my watch free of charge. That wasn’t the case, I was charged for a new battery and a service this time, despite the fact that I have another year’s warranty left on the watch. The manageress is quite arrogant and didn't listen to me. She kept cutting me short when I told her that I had 2 years warrantee; according to her I only have one which has run out. I even told her I had the paperwork to prove it, but no, I only have one year’s warranty according to her highness the manageress. I decided that I didn't want to argue with such an arrogant woman, and make my life easy by just paying the charge. Months later, the watch has stopped working again and this time instead of stressing out about having to deal with Alfred Peters staff and manageress, I decided to take it straight to the manufacturer who repaired the watch free of charge as its still on warranty. Don’t buy anything from Alfred Peters as they do not value their customers and their manageress will make you feel like an idiot. I would give them no stars rating if that were possible, however the minimum is one star, so that's what they get from me.

Incompetence
I took my Seiko Perpetual Calendar watch back to the store, where i originally purchased it, to have the battery replaced. They said it would cost £25. It took about three weeks and upon it's return i was charged £30. I then later discovered that the perpetual calendar is no longer correctly set and it has to go to Seiko to be reset and again resealed. The shop told me that would cost £50! Seiko tell me it costs £32.42 + postage to have battery replaced, calendar reset and watch resealed. Despite the problem being the result of Alfred Peters incompetence, they blame me for not telling them that it is a perpetual calendar watch (it is wriiten on the face of the watch) and they say he £50 is to over their own expenses.
Do not buy anything from these people or get anything repaired unless you enjoy dealing with a Manageress who doesn't understand responisibility!
