Alfords Carpets and Flooring is run by Mark Alford who has been a self-employed carpet and flooring fitter for over 17 years, subcontracted by many local companies and employed as the main fitter for the long established and trusted name, Oliver’s and Son of Helston. Therefore he has built up a reputation for being a high quality fitter with an eye for detail and taking pride in every job he does, large or small.

We had excellent service from Alfords.
Melanie spent time with us in the showroom helping us to choose the right bathroom flooring for our needs and budget.
Mark brought the samples out and measured up, helping us to confirm our choice and Andy fitted the flooring with care and attention to detail so that the pattern looked right.
The whole process took less than 2 weeks!
We would not have any hesitation in recommending Alfords to other prospective customers.

Alfords fitted carpets on the stairs and laminate in two bedrooms. I had an idea for what I wanted (hard wearing, neutral colours), but didn't know an exact spec, and accepted their recommendations. The carpets and laminates look pleasant and can be washed easily, so the advice was good. The fitting was quick. The main fitting was done in a day. They came back to fit the scotias later, which was fine. Overall, happy with the service and product.

Helpful, friendly and informative at the shop. The Boss who came to measure up for two carpets was very helpful in terms of advice and answering questions and gave me confidence in the company plus was not at all pushy.

The two guys that fitted the carpets did a really good job they tidied up after themselves, cleared away all rubbish and hoovered both the carpets and made sure I was happy with the fitting before they left so all in all an excellent experience from start to finish.

Fantastic service from Alfords. Went that extra mile to ensure we had what we wanted. From first setting foot inside the shop to fitting and after care, we had an excellent, efficient and friendly experience. The quality of both the products and workmanship are second to none. We can highly recommend Alfords and having found them, will always use Alfords for all our flooring needs from now on.

We visited alfords Helston on the 16th july 2018.
Staff very helpful at time.
Having ordered wood flooring we were advised that delivery would take approx 2 weeks.
Paid in full on the day of order as required.
We received a call the next day to let us know that delivery would be 6 weeks not the 2 we had been told at the time.
Delivery date 28th August 2018.
We accepted this as we liked the wood flooring and color.
Delivery date checked on the 24th August at the shop and we were informed that they would check and inform us. Delivery on the 28th was confirmed.
28th a day off work, no delivery.
Staff attempted to say that they had not given us a delivery date. That delivery was into the UK not our address until they found an email.
Staff very apologetic, will give you a discount, excuses
No discount
30th August flooring has arrived 3 sections broken and Alfords contacted and what did I expect!!
Some help or pride in their business.
Will sort out problem myself.

PART 1 - Hello Mrs Richardson, I am ever so sorry that you were so disappointed by the order you placed with us, I would like to say that absolutely no excuses were made, honesty with my customers has always been key, I feel there is no place in business for anything but. With regards to the 2 weeks turning into 8 weeks, i can only let customers know the status of the order once the manufacturer has given me notice, which I did. I did however give you the date of the 28th which regrettably wasn’t accurate as I admitted at the time was down to my not reading the email correctly which I again apologise profusely for as I was very much aware that time off work had to be arranged to receive delivery. We were also let down today by Boen’s delivery shambles which we tried to sort out ourselves. As for the 2 broken planks it unfortunately is something that can occur with wooden flooring during delivery and offered my services if it was to effect the floor laying...............

.........PART 2 - I also did mention discount and have every intention to get back to you with an offer once I had spoken to my husband as I have to discuss with him what we can do plus I managed to find some Boen cleaner which I was going to add, this is obviously very much still the case. I assure you that being a small family business we are very conscious of our reputation and have been very proud of our work and am sorry you have been put in the position where you have felt you have had to leave this feedback and will ensure that this is learnt from.
