Business overview
Christine has been practising Bowen since 2001 after qualifying with the European college of Bowen Studies. She is a member of the Bowen Therapists Professional Association.
Bowen Therapy is a unique holistic remedial therapy. It is non invasive and very gentle. Treating the body holistically, it promotes healing, pain relief and recovery of energy. Treatment is gentle, subtle and very relaxing and is a method of enabling the body to restore, rebalance and realign itself by stimulating the body’s own energy to heal itself. A Bowen treatment consists of a sequence of small moves on precise points of the body over muscle and soft tissue. These movements induce the body to reset itself, producing a deep sense of relaxation and relief from even long-standing pain. During treatment, the body is given time to make subtle and fine adjustments to relieve tension, reduce pain and begin the healing process, giving the client a deep sense of relaxation and clearance of toxins. It is suitable for all ages. There is no manipulation, use of force or any adjustment of hard tissue. Following treatment, it is often usual for clients to report a sense of deep relaxation and well being. Treatment can be performed through light loose clothing if preferred. Two or three treatments at 7 to 10 day intervals may often be sufficient to achieve lasting relief from even long standing pain, although further treatment may sometimes be required, depending on individual needs.
