AVOID ADCO CHESTER
1Adco installed a new boiler for me in 2023 - the deal was your first service is free. Dealing with adco this year has been a nightmare. They booked in the free service, and only when I email to confirm the appt the week before, I receive an auto reply telling me they are on holiday. I had to assume they weren’t coming to do the job. With no contact from them to rearrange. When I finally got a response by email to rebook, I travelled 200 miles to be available at the property for them to not show up, not answer my calls, texts or emails. A totally wasted journey costing me time and money.
I still haven’t had my boiler serviced & have to now pay for the job with someone else. I mis-sold the boiler install last year & regret ever spending money with these guys. AVOID.

1Hi Phil & Helen, As we have stated in a previous reply to one of your many reviews, we have an answer machine which Helen used and we returned her call asap. When customers leave a message we return the calls in order of receiving them. I agreed with Helen that when you needed any work done you would phone me direct on my mobile because the office were not happy dealing with you because of the way you talk to the team on the phone. We should not have to put up with your rudeness towards us and we will not be doing any work for you in the future. Many Thanks, Anthony.

No Customer Service
2Inspection done in record time (less than 45 mins for 3 story house). Result of the report was a failure due to “non IP rated lights in bathroom” along with a £250 quote to resolve issues. As it was a new build I went back to the house builder under warranty who were adamant everything was above requirements.
This is where things started to go wrong – rather than ADCO (who I’m assuming subcontracts the electrical side of the business out to someone else) owning the issue, the message from the house builder was merely forwarded onto the contractor and then batted back with more inaccurate information.
End result? Report now correctly states IP rating on lights are above standard. No apology and no reduction in original invoice. Asked to factor in the above and to requote. No response. Asked for complaints procedure. No response.
Many factors impact how an EICR is tested, main factor is number of circuits & consumer units (not size of property). An EICR on site by 1 man is 1-4 hours, then 1 hour to compile certificate at the office. In this case a 2 man team went. Although the house is 3 story there was 8 circuits from 1 consumer unit. Team signed on at 8.16am, closed at 9.20am, back to office with results, certification reviewed by management. Pictures of lights in zones at time of test and clear images of lights had no bezel indicating they weren't IP65 (IP65 offer maximum protection in special locations which we fit as standard for companies we work for) After receiving data from house builder it noted budget IP44 & IP54 fittings were fitted offering minimum protection to meet regulations. We agreed to return, check lights at no cost, raise a satisfactory if fittings could be identified as IP44 & IP54, upon removal of fittings and inspection was happy to sign as satisfactory Kind Regards Steve

Great experience
5From initial enquiry to completing the work the process couldn’t have been smoother.
Turned up when they said they would, kept us informed through the whole process, took additional works at the last minute in their stride etc.
Can’t recommend enough.
