Putting the spring back in their step and helping your pet be the best they can be.

Active Pet is a veterinary clinic specialising in veterinary rehabilitation, physiotherapy, acupuncture, pain management and hydrotherapy.

When your pet is getting stiffer, has arthritis or if they have an orthopaedic or neurological condition then we are here to help them. We will treat any pain they may have and organise a personalised therapy program to get them up and about again.

As all treatments and programs are undertaken by a fully qualified Veterinary Surgeon you can rest assured that your pet is in safe, caring and experienced hands.

Welcome to Active Pet HQ
We use the underwater treadmill to build muscle strength and coordination while allowing pets to exercise in a safe, controlled environment.
We use acupuncture on dogs, cats and other small pets to help reduce pain and promote healing. It is very well tolerated by most pets and in many cases allows us to use less medication.

Philippa and her team are exceptional

Philippa and her team at Active Pet are exceptionally kind and professional. They have helped me to keep my faithful canine companion pain free and mobile over the last few years. Through every stage of his treatment they have know how to help and advise. I will always be grateful for this consistent and compassionate support.

Ruptured Cruciate

5
My vet referred our Siberian Husky,to Philippa three months after her cruciate operation as she was not using the leg and was not weight bearing on it, after just a few sessions of acupuncture, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, we saw a huge improvement. When the other cruciate ruptured she needed a second TTA the benefits of all Philippa's previous work were apparent. Recovery was so much quicker and we have continued with all the treatments getting her stronger and increasing her muscle mass. I only wish we had known about Active Pet sooner.

Happy dog

5
I have a lovely Collie cross 12 year old dog called Charlie who has chronic pain in his back legs and spine due to arthritis. We have had three visits so far to Philippa's practice for acupuncture, hydrotherapy and physio. At first I was very sceptical as to how it could possibly help poor Charlie with his chronic discomfort but within half hour of our first visit realised the level of care and Philippa' s knowledge on pain management was definitely worth every penny. At the end of each session I am sent an email from the practice with the exercises I've been shown to do at home to aid mobility and make Charlie more comfortable. As Philippa is also a qualified vet she has even recommended different medication which she discussed with Charlie's vet which has really made a difference and put a spring back in his step as has the acupuncture for pain relief, he is brighter eyed and playful rather than lying on the floor despondent like he used to be. I know there is no cure for Charlie but glad to have Philippa' s advice and services to make Charlie's golden years more comfortable. I would highly recommend you give Active Pet a try.

Arthritic labrador much improved

5
Our middle-aged Labrador was arthritic in a number of areas, especially an elbow which had rendered him virtually three-legged. Philippa's patient work with acupuncture and hydrotherapy has turned around his condition to the point where we now have our happy dog back, able to enjoy his walks and life in general. I don't think we could have achieved that without Philippa's help.

Excellent Service

5
I began to take my dog, Willow to see Philippa due to various problems with her knee and ligaments. She helped her regain muscle strength and mass after they had severely weaken. She has now had major orthopaedic surgery and even after a couple of weeks she is doing fabulously. She has helped manage her pain and set us weekly exercises especially tailored to her situation. Philippa puts in a lot of effort and is very caring towards Willow. It is so reassuring to have someone in this industry who has spent many years as a vet making her knowledgeable and trust worthy. Would thoroughly recommend seeing her to help your furry friend!
