Abbey Builders are a family run business covering Liverpool, Merseyside and Wirral. We specialise in domestic building work, house renovations, damp proofing and dry rot.

The aim of Abbey Builders is to provide specialist house renovations, damp and timber surveys, reports and/or quotes along with information and guidance on how to cure rising damp, beetle infestation (woodworm), dry rot, timber decay and condensation. We carry out timber treatments and damp proofing throughout Liverpool and Merseyside for property owners, landlords, building contractors, property developers, owners of industrial properties and local housing associations.

In addition to undertaking specialist damp-proofing and timber treatments, additionally we offer damp and timber surveys for pre-purchase & re-mortgage requirements when dampness & timber defects have been highlighted in the home-buyers survey report.

Love our new extension built by Abbey Builders. From the first day on the job to the very last day they were wonderful. The team were friendly, polite and very professional.They arrived each day on time and in good humour.Started work immediately and worked in a very professional manner.Superb ! They even cleaned up to a high standard at the end of the day..which was so refreshing when compared with builders we have used in the past.I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone planning to have building work undertaken.Welcome back anytime !

Don't waste your time with them

Nightmare to deal with and they cancelled the job last minute. After visiting the house to give a quote for 2 jobs (an overpriced quote at that) they then tried to push us into getting the work done immediately. We decided to only get half the work done after Christmas, and I called 3 times to try and settle a date and have a written copy of the quote, with them promising to get back to me and never doing so. They also said they would provide the tiles for the retiling work and then said they actually don't do that. After 2 more calls to try and confirm the quote in writing, they then called back to cancel the work because they let their tiler go.... Complete waste of time.

Due to extensive damp in kitchen had new damp course done and new kitchen fitted. Also had other work done and found the firm to be very highly skilled, efficient and value for money. B Shields
