Dodgy company - scam!

AVOID! We were desperate and this was the first engineer that could come out. How I regret it. We were charged £800 for a piece of paper indicating a vague area.Engineer left our holiday home telling us it was a “two man job” and was unable to do it. Even though we were losing water at a rate of 1.5 litres a min. guarantee is not valid - they don’t utilise it. Engineer unable to even turn the stopcock off, scared he would break it. water board said there was nothing wrong with the stopcock. Our saga went on for a 1.5 months - at 1 point we were left with no water overnight even to flush the toilet. resorted to phoning another local leak detection firm who in contrast were excellent - found the leak in another area and carried out the fix efficiently at a better price. However we had already paid ADI £800 for a useless “report”. A couple of sentences on a page saying the leak was near the tap (it was not it was further down). Please think carefully before using this firm. Scam firm.

WELL CRAFTED DECEPTION

You engage ADI under the illusion that you are getting a company that will solve your problem backed up by a ‘no find no fee’ guarantee. They quote a call out/detection fee of £595 (£714 inc. VAT) which supports the notion that you are paying a premium for a highly specialised service. But then:

In situations where they find the leak they not only get this premium charge paid but they also gain from the profit in the repairs. Not bad for a day’s work. A WIN for ADI.

However in situations where they do not find the leak (As in my case), they find the most relevant T&C that they can apply (and through experience they have one for every eventuality) and state that the ‘no find no fee’ doesn’t apply or the customer doesn’t in some way qualify for it. Although they do not profit from any repair work they still get the premium charge paid (in fact they just take it since they already possess the customer’s card details!). So £714 for a day’s work. Another WIN for ADI.

Waste of money and time!

1
I had a very disappointing experience with this company. They did not do the work and when asked to come back ignored my emails and complaints about the service they provided. The worst company to work with ever!!!

BEWARE of recommendations

Beware receiving any recommendations from them. They have highly recommended Tangible Building Solutions to us and it has been a nightmare for the past year dealing with them.

Vastly incompetent at finding our leak

1
Vastly incompetent at finding our leak; terrible waste of time and money. No understanding from their customer relations / complaints handling. Despite visible water coming over the ground from our stopcock and despite availability on the day of someone to point to the stopcock, the technician was unable to locate the stopcock. It seems the technician did nothing to investigate the source of water running over the ground from our bush, when this was the actual leak we brought ADI in to sort out, and where he would have found the stopcock had he looked. Instead, the technician spent time looking elsewhere, away from the streaming leak, and then progressed to the house to test the internal pipes and photograph damp patches in the house. In the end we had to try again with someone else, and when the water supplier came they immediately located the leak under the bush and fixed the problem within a couple of hours. Our experience with ADI was abysmal.
