A Better Garden

My garden retained water for 5-6 months of the year - the grass area was totally unusable and the patio flooded from October right through the winter. The patio was like a patchwork quilt - part paving, part concrete. Finn came up with a plan to install drainage as well as replacing and adding to the existing paving. Throughout the work Finn gave me unbiased advice on all aspects, eg the pros and cons of various paving options and the best place for an additional patio to make the most of the sun. He dismantled my old shed when its replacement was being delivered, repaired/extended existing fencing, dug out ivy and trees that were causing problems and a host of other smaller issues. Apart from landscaping skills, both Finn and Scott are lovely guys to deal with, even stopping to say good morning to my manic pup every day and clearing ice from my windscreen on wintry mornings. I can’t wait for Spring to make full use of my lovely new garden and cannot recommend them highly enough. 😀

What a total garden transformation! Finn &Scott had to clear out the existing gardens in order to create beautiful new zones - including outdoor dining/tiered living spaces & a practical utility zone. Their professionalism & expertise in a wide variety of aspects including porcelain paving, masonry, building walls, drainage & turf lawns, fences, gates, hedges, water feature & lighting was to the highest standards- they took real pride in delivering an exceptional outcome in all areas. Finn’s attention to detail - even sourcing new bricks to complement our discontinued driveway bricks because aesthetically he knew it would look better. Finn & Scott were friendly, self sufficient, punctual, reliable- both had an amazing work ethic in all weathers. Every day they cleaned up before they left. They have exceeded our expectations with how the gardens have turned out, & how they worked & communicated with us. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Finn & Scott (A Better Garden).

I can’t speak highly enough about Finn! He (and Scott) spent 4 weeks this summer transforming our back garden from tarmac/marshy lawn to a contemporary, beautifully paved, peaceful haven with a stunning cedar fence and matching gates (made by him). His attention to detail and finishes are second to none. We are incredibly pleased with the outcome. We were very impressed with Finn’s work ethic and professionalism. Finn was on the job every day, as agreed, and 100% reliable. He worked with us to come up with a final design and was very accommodating when we asked for changes as the project went on. He is easy to talk to, willing to give advice and we never felt pressured to accept anything we weren’t happy with. We had to book Finn 12 months in advance, but kept in touch periodically before the project start. Shortly before his start date, he put us in touch with several previous clients who we visited to view his work. Highly recommended!!

The rear of our garden has been transformed - from the shed bases and paths in Dec 2020 to the brilliant fence in Nov 2021 and now the gorgeous patio area just completed.
There may be a waiting list but the end result is well worth the wait.
Finn and Scott are extremely professional, dedicated and take such pride in their work.
