Level of services - precise , thorough ,polite.We called Matt from ABU GAS ourselves , because he had already provided services in our house , he helped us chooisea boiler , made a plan of action , and advised , everything was done on time , w felt as if someone from our family was at home , we could goto work , we safly left Matt at home. I always find ABU very helpful. I emailed regarding some issues with my
hot water. He responded quickly and arranged a date for a visit. In the meantime, the problem solved itself, which meant I had to contact him on the day of the appointment. He was very understanding, despite his having possibly lost other work due to my booking.

Shocking poor service.

Toilet leaked, ABU plumbing came, replaced the siphon unit. A few days later it was leaking through the kitchen ceiling. . Called/emailed, no response. Called another plumber as the job needed fixing. The plumber that came was shocked by how badly the job had been done. Wrong size sealing washer and he explained that you dont need silicone and tape round the joints if done properly. He replaced the whole siphon unit again, without any silicone or tape and its all fine now.
Shortly after we had an email response from ABU plumbing saying he had been on holiday. Fair enough but most people put out of hours messages on phone and email. Anyway, he absolved any responsibiility saying it was nothing to do with him. Basically his argument was that he had mentioned that the overflow connection to the flush pipe might leak. Whilst this is true, I stress this was not the part that had leaked. It was the bit he did that leaked so he should have put it right.
We were thoroughly ripped off.

This customer asked for the flush valve to be replaced on his toilet. While carrying out the work the customer insisted on removing parts himself. A vast amount of water staining was found on the floor and encrusted limescale around an incorrectly installed overflow/flush pipe connection. This was all pointed out to the customer. The flush valve used was the correct type. The addition of a silicone sealant and PTFE tape to the treads provides extra security against leaks. It was recommend to the customer that he had the flush pipe replaced. He told the plumber that he would keep an eye on it and would contact ABU Gas & Plumbing Ltd if he wanted it replaced. He was also informed that the plumber was away the following week on holiday. A B U Gas & Plumbing Ltd, for security reasons does not adverse when it’s plumber takes holidays. If this customer had followed the plumbers advice then there would not have been an issue on what was as a very poor, incorrect, DIY installation.

As was explained at the time to resolve the leak due to poor DIY work on your toilet system and floor would require significantly more than replacing the flush valve. It is unfortunate your calls could not be answered however for security reasons it is not the companies policy to publish closure dates. Great to hear all is now well.

I used to dread anything going wrong with my heating and plumbing, so Matt from ABU was a real find! He is not only excellent at his job, he always turns up on time and is very neat and tidy when he works. Overall, he is extremely professional and I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Replacement boiler expertly fitted to time and agreed cost with a minimum of mess and disruption.

ABU Gas and Plumbing (Matt) replaced a gas boiler for me with a new Worcester Bosch unit. I had a number of quotes for this work and Matt impressed me with his knowledge, sound advice, thoroughness and the comprehensive nature of his quotation where everything was itemised.
The actual installation work started exactly when Matt had promised it would and, despite some tricky issues like needing to connect to existing pipes buried behind tiles and cupboards, the work was completed within the promised time and with a minimum of disruption and mess. Indeed, Matt was very careful to cover the floor and kitchen work surfaces to avoid possible damage and kept the kitchen as tidy as possible while he worked.
Overall I am very happy with the work done and would recommend ABU Gas and Plumbing to anyone.
