Cancelled 2 days before i was due to stay

Booked a room 6 months in advance only to have it cancelled 2 days before i was due to check in, I had to rebook a new hotel which cost over £200 more the owner couldn't have cared less!

This place is scam, it doesn’t deserve a star because my girlfriend and I never got to stay here and I don’t think anyone ever has. There are reviews on here saying is great when in reality it must be there friends or other people scamming with them trying to get whatever money they can out of people who unfortunately booked this place.No communication from the owner about how to get in, when looking at other sites they say different things about how many rooms there are. I messaged a month before coming about payment and no response, called multiple times day of and multiple more messages and heard nothing. I went through booking.com and it took 6 hours to get through to them to finally be able to not get charged. Left us stranded and had to book a place very last minute in London on a weekend in the summer which cost us 3 times as much as what we planned. Also in a rough area of London so don’t be stuck here late at night, we were lucky to try to be there early enough

We booked through booking.com and had received a confirmation email but while we were travelling the booking was cancelled for spurious reason. We arrived around 10pm, the host did not answer the phone and simply repeated the message that the booking was cancelled. No offer of help from the host and after a second message nothing further was received a most uncaring attitude. Booking.com not much help either all messages were met with we will get in touch with you with 24 hours and after 15 minutes on hold we realised that they didn't care we were stuck in the middle of a housing estate at night with nowhere to stay. Dreadful experience.

The guest had been informed well ahead of time that there was no availability, we had some issues with a sudden water leakage from the roof, there was no way we were going to check a guest in to a room with inhabitable condition. This particular guest was sent a message well ahead of time that there was no availability. The booking in question had also not been paid for though. And there was nothing we could have done given the circumstances. My apologies once again for any inconveniences caused.
