Was told car need new caliper agreed on price £120 never phoned to advise that they couldnt get 1 so they stuck a second hand 1 and charged £110

Amazing garage!! They went out of their way to specially weld and put my snapped exhaust (that no one else would repair) back together saving me a £1000!! Service was excellent, quality of work great and all problems quickly solved. Would highly recommend - 5 star

have had 2 vw golf gt tdi and 1 vw bora tdi cambelt kits done and various other jobs and found this garage both reasonably priced and very diligent and would highly recommend! mohamad the mechanic is exceptional!!

See my review of this garage on google maps, but I am repasting here because exactly the same thing has happened elsewhere and its about time ALL of these places followed the new code of practice for mechanical engineers. There are apparently only a handful in glasgow doing this. Scotland Street crew were friendly and flexible service for several years, but its always the same story here. As soon as their average mechanics are let loose on gearbox-engines, they mess up, usually because they have poor diagnostic abilities. You can usually spot this by how quickly they jump to conclusions on the fault and if its a common (often expensive) part they say needs replaced first. Even the best garages make errors, but then the test is whether they take responsibility. If not you are out pocket for £500 plus and having to go elsewhere to get the job done. Its a pretty arrogant, incompetent and cynical approach to something thats already stressful, but this treatment puts it into another realm.
