1st Reading Van Hire

Very helpful company, excellent service and advice as to which van we should go for. Very straightforward pick up and drop off procedures. Customer parking available and a petrol station on hand to do final "top up" before returning

We rented a van. Did a little damage on a plastic bit and we did inform the owner ASAP. At the end of our move, we went to the petrol station to put back the 1/3 of the tank he gave us. We put only £5 at a time so we'd give back exactly what it had. £20 later, the needle didn't move from where it was so we put another £10 and as soon as we turned on the engine, it went from where it was and straight away to HALF of a tank. We thought that even though the damage was caused, he'd discount the £15 extra of petrol from the little damage.
Months passed, owner call out of nowhere demanding £50 for the damage. Which is fine but when confronted with the extra £15 of petrol, he said that doesn't mean anything, that's not direct money for his company and he wouldn't deduct that from the charge. This van is HIS and we lost those £15 because the needle wouldn't move.
We paid the £50 and the only option he gave us was to drive to Reading and take the petrol out of the van ourselves. Disgusting.

Great choice of vehicles, very affordable price. Conveniently located behind the Shell petrol station in George Street, Reading. The proprietor, Andy Green, is very fair and very professional. We have used them twice now and would not go anywhere else!
