1st Piano Forte

Harry has been an inspirational teacher to my two children. Teaching my oldest son to soon take his grade 8 piano and my daughter to grade 6 in both piano and singing. He has taught them with great patients, the skills in reading and performing music at all levels to not only pass the exams but also to enjoy performing. He has given them insight into the broader picture of music and represents the highest qualities in listening and playing. One of his greatest attributes is to play along side the student, demonstrating his virtuosity to teach and play at the same time. I fully recommend Harry as a exceptional music teacher.

I took piano lessons from the age of 8 to 16 when I left school. I reached grade 5 standard but had never taken an exam.
On reaching my 60's I decided to take piano up again and attempt some exams. Due to Harry's brilliant teaching I achieved my ambition and passed grade 5, grade 5 theory, and grades 6, 7and 8 in 5 years. Harry is an excellent teacher with lots of patience and a sense of humour. It is a privilege to be taught by him.

Harry taught both my boys from about the age of 8 until they achieved grade 5 as teenagers. In the early years it was reassuring to be able to sit in the room and listen, whilst reading the thoughtfully provided newspaper. As it turned out, neither of my boys were keen to continue learning the piano, but this didn't diminish the effort that Harry put into their lessons. It is a credit to him that they managed to achieve grade 5, which they are proud of. Harry has infinite patience and my boys enjoyed their lessons. They now have a very sound musical foundation should they want to continue with their music later on in life. I would definitely recommend.

Mr Harrup taught me from Grade 4 piano all the way through to completing my Grade 8 last year. Throughout my time being taught by Mr Harrup, I found him to be a very supportive and knowledgeable teacher, who built my confidence playing the piano and encouraged me to grow as a musician.
Importantly to me, Mr Harrup not only guided me successfully through all the practical and theory exams that I undertook with him, but he also allowed me, and actively encouraged me to expand my repertoire and play music that I was interested in.
I would highly recommend Mr Harrup to anyone looking for a piano or organ teacher.

I have enjoyed many years of piano lessons with Mr Harrop and he has seen me through grade 8. He is an incredibly patient and encouraging teacher with fantastic experience and knowledge of music. He taught me not only play but also to understand the music we worked on.
