Our History

I established M&M Transmissions in 1969 from very humble beginnings, I came from an engineering background, being a qualified toolmaker. M&M Transmissions soon became a prominent force in the field of gearbox repairs and reconditioning. In 1972 it was necessary to find larger accommodation so we moved into a 4000 sq ft factory where we remain today. During this period we have endured the "three day week" several recessions and the inevitability of competition.

At M&M Transmissions we pride ourselves in giving an honest and personal service assuring our customers the benefit of knowledge gained over many years. My staff are generally long serving, in fact some have been with me for over 30 years.

The natural progression was to move into the field of clutch repairs and Budget Clutch was born. Over the years it has proved to be very successful, the knowledge gained from transmissions adapted very harmoniously into the world of clutches.

I know that if your car breaks down or fails it can be a traumatic experience, our aim is to make that experience as pleasant as possible.
