Had connection issue with display; chap and I agreed this was likely the fault at hand. Was quoted £30 to adjust the part or £60 to replace it, dependent upon condition; but in case the whole screen was going, he said would be £100 to replace that; all sounded reasonable.
Eventually got back to me to let me know whole screen needed replacement. Then courier didn't bring new screen in time (five working days just to look at laptop and more than three days for part) so he put old screen back. In doing so he effectively did the job he quoted me £30 for, connection was now fixed. But he broke my screen in the process (said it was inevitable because it is a newer laptop and one has to ping the screens off due to the fancy new sticky tape they now use). Didn't charge me ofc, but did mangle my screen all because he would have preferred to charge the £100 for new screen; as opposed to the £30 for job at hand.
Paid £110 for new screen at Curry's in the end. Six working days and a fine job.

Nice to see you caught somebody trying to defraud you. If it had been me I’d have called the police. I have always found the owner Matt very helpful. John

I find it interesting that (ddlamb) goes into a shop and decides to change stickers round because a case is broken, (did the person not think to ask? Or, think that they may get away without being seen? ).....! Swap them over without even asking, an honest paying customer would have gone to the counter and asked! From what I’ve seen on YouTube mate you have been well and truly caught....

Not quite sure which planet or town the person thinks they are in? My mother passed out in St Andrews those people looked after my mother until the Ambulance came, phone me to let me know what had happened, even phoned my mother a few days later to make sure she was OK. Since then mother and I have shopped in St Andrews most weeks and find all very nice.

Took my laptop in for new screen, came back, screen replaced all within two days. well pleased....
