A plumber has got a dream job in Antarctica
So that’s why I was slightly surprised to hear the weird and wonderful story in the news today about the plumber who has landed a job in Antarctica.
Mark Green, who has only ever been as far as Spain on holiday before, will be heading off around the world on a plumbing adventure.
The 47-year-old has beaten thousands of other plumbers to win his dream job and now he thinks it may be a bit of a culture shock!
He’ll be swapping leaky pipes and dripping taps for a 15-month contract at the British Antarctic Survey research centre in the South Pole.
And when he’s not busy maintaining the water and heating supplies, Mark plans to snowboard and play his saxophone.
He should expect some frosty weather in the Antarctic as during the winter months, temperatures can drop to between minus ten and minus 30 degrees Celsius.
