Cyclists will love the new route
The joy of this hobby is it means we can discover new places and uncover trails we never knew existed.
I've just heard about a new route I can't wait to try, after the Yorkshire Dales National Park revealed cyclists will be able to pedal along the Way of the Roses route as of September 11th.
The path spans 170 miles and takes you from Morecambe to Bridlington via a range of famous northern spots, including Ripon, the Yorkshire Wolds and York.
Andy Ryland, transport and visitor management officer for the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority explains: "Cycling is growing in popularity and this new route will bring benefits to local businesses – including B&Bs, cafes, pubs and cycle shops – in the Yorkshire Dales and along the entire route."
The two counties are traditionally considered rivals, dating back to the War of the Roses centuries ago, but Mr Ryland says the two authorities have worked really well together in creating this impressive route.
