The browsable version has been specifically developed for users who don't have a mobile device that supports the Yell Mobile app. It enables you to get business listings from Yell.com on your mobile phone (if it is internet enabled).

You will have access to the same* information as on Yell.com, including maps and directions information for individual businesses.

Q4. How does the Yell Mobile web work?

Open the mobile browser on your mobile device and enter the address www.yell.com. (Remember to save it to your list of favourites).

After a few seconds you will see the Yell Mobile homepage.

Enter your request. You can search by product or service type or for a specific business by name or simply select from a list of popular categories. Then enter the location and select "Search". After a few seconds the service will return a number of matching results directly to your mobile.

For each of the results you have the options to select the business and call it directly or request a map and directions to help you find it.

Q5. How much does it cost?

Yell will not charge you for using the Yell Mobile web. However, please note operator rates apply to all data service usage.

Q6. Do I have to register for Yell Mobile web?

No, there's no need to register.

Q7. Do I have to be on any specific mobile network to use Yell Mobile web?

No, it will operate on all the major UK mobile networks. If you do experience any problems you should contact your mobile service provider.

Q8. Why can't I use the mobile internet on my phone?

If you have any problems accessing mobile internet services on your phone please contact your mobile service provider.

Q9. Is this service case-sensitive?

No, you can enter lower case, upper case or any combination.

Q10. I have a Blackberry device and Yell Mobile app always find results for London, how can I change it?

The location accuracy is based on the GPS signal strength and it is best when the device is in clear view to the Sky (satellite) as far as the auto-detection, if the application does not get a location fix, it defaults to London.

Also this might help on your blackberry goto Options > Advanced Options > GPS > Menu Key > Refresh GPS.

The location can be entered manually as well.

Q11. How much does Yell Mobile web cost to use?

Nothing. Yell Mobile is available free of charge, although your network provider may apply charges for data usage. If Yell subsequently decides to charge for its use, a schedule will appear on this website or in the "Service information" area of Yell Mobile itself.
