Redcliffe Square in Earls Court was used as a location in An American Werewolf in London, as the exterior of the home of Alex, the character played by Jenny Agutter.
Earls Court derives its name from a farm
The farm in question can be seen on Greenwood's Map of London, dated 1827. The Earls of Earls Court are thought to have been the Earl of Warwick and the Earl of Holland.

While the name of the area is usually written "Earls Court", an apostrophe has snuck into the title of the tube station, making it "Earl's Court".
Earls Court has inspired a literary classic
The subtitle of Patrick Hamilton's seminal London novel Hangover Square is A story of darkest Earls Court. The novel, set in the area in 1939, sees George Harvey Bone struggling with his infatuation with the effortlessly cool Netta—and ends in disaster.
The first supermarket in Britain was situated in Earls Court It opened in 1951.
Earls Court Exhibition Centre has had some surprising guests
As well as hosting a multitude of expected stars, including David Bowie and the Spice Girls, the world-famous Earls Court venue has also welcomed Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in the late 1800s. During the 2012 Olympics, the volleyball competitions will be held at Earls Court Exhibition Centre.
