• Get a written contract from the plumber before the work commences.
• Keep the number of a good emergency plumber in a safe place, just in case you ever need it.
• For work on gas central heating systems or gas boiler repairs, use a CORGI-registered plumber or central heating engineer (From 1 April 2009 in England, Scotland and Wales, Gas Safe Register replaces CORGI).
