Beauty salons & consultants
Beauty salons and beauty therapists may offer some or all of the following:
- Nail technicians' services, including manicures, pedicures, French manicures and acrylic nails;
- Tanning services, normally spray tanning or tanning lotions;
- A range of facials including beauty facials and aromatherapy facials;
- Waxing and eyebrow-shaping;
- Aromatherapy massages and reflexology;
- Mobile beauty salon services, where the beauty therapist treats you in your home;
- Body wraps and other toning treatments.
- Beauty salons use different brands of beauty products, so if you have a preferred range of products, phone them first to find a beauty salon that uses your favourite brand.
- Make your booking for a day when you have plenty of time—you don't want to leave the salon feeling relaxed and then have to rush back to work or to another appointment.
- Visit a few beauty salons in your area to see how relaxing and professional they look, and to pick up price lists.
- Treatments with the same name such as facials, manicures or pedicures can be different from one beauty salon to the next—ask how long the treatment takes and what is involved in the process before you book.
- For special occasions, many beauty salons offer pamper days, which may be cheaper than booking several beauty treatments separately.
- If you would feel more comfortable having beauty treatments in your own home, find out if there are any mobile beauty salons in your area.
