B&Q has launched a competition to find the best whistling builder

Have you ever been at the receiving end of a builder’s wolf whistle?

You may be about to experience the sound more often as tradesmen up and down the country practice for the chance to know as Britain’s best whistling builder.

B&Qs trade counter division TradePoint has launched the ‘Whistle While You Work’ campaign, and the winner will take home a useful £1,000 prize.

Whistling heats will be held up and down the country from Peterborough to Paisley within TradePoint at B&Q’s stores.

And whistle happy builders will be tested for a number of factors including tunefulness, volume, range, creativity, and etiquette, as well as the infamous wolf whistle shrill.

The best entrants will then compete in the national final, which will be judged by world champion whistler David Morris.

Ian Herrett, trade director at B&Q, said the judges are looking forward to hearing the whistling builders and increasing the repertoire of songs heard on construction sites across the UK.
