We bought a Nissan note from Wilsons of Rathkenny in June 2012. The reviews above which say they do not want to know you once you have bought the car from them is correct. the salesman that sold me the car couldn't even be bothered to give me a nod when I went back to get the car serviced. However this is a very minor point compared to what we subsequently discovered. We are moving to England and we had purchased a three year service contract from them when we bought the car.( This was because the salesman actively promoted it.) We telephoned them to see if the service contract was transferable to Nissan dealers in England. We have only used it once and we paid 360 pounds for it. The person who sold us the car was very offhand with us and did not want to know. He told us that it was not transferable. So we asked for a refund of the balance and he said there would be no refund. We said that cannot be right for you to charge us for something we have not been supplied with. He repeated no refund. We said we would then go to trading standards and he said 'Just you do that' After this we telephoned Nissan and asked them would the service contract be transferable. They told us that we had a 4 year service contract with Nissan which was included with the purchase of the car. We said 'Are you sure, we thought it was three years and we paid for it?' they said we definitely had a 4 year service contract and it was fully transferable to any Nissan dealer and it was included in the purchase price of the car. So what Wilsons had done was to charge us and extra 360 pounds for a three year service contract with them for a car that already had a service contract included . if we had not been moving to England we would never have discovered this and they would have 360 pounds of our money. After several phone calls they returned the 360 Pounds but without a word of apology and very grudgingly. By rights they should have been paying us interest. They claim it was a mistake and I suppose they would say that but I certainly would never go back near them. We do not accept that this was a mistake as a salesman should know his job and know what offers are with the cars he is selling. I feel that if as they say it was a genuine mistake, they should have been more apologetic and tried to do some little thing to make amends but there was absolutely no suggestion of that.
