we have eaten here twice, in all 4 main meals and 3 were fantastic, my last one was poor. I am prepared to not hold it against them too much. they know what they are doing. be warned its not cheap, in fact very bloomin deal, so its more of a treat than anything else. its in a lovely area, but take it easy on the road, its a small country lane (gets a bit snug in some areas)Report this
Stylish Pub in Anglesey
03/01/2008 by Browners
We spent New Year in the village of Rhoscolyn on Anglesey. It's a spectacularly beautiful spot with sweeping views and craggy hills. After a stunning walk along the coast we were desperate for a nice pint and some chips. The White Eagle didn't let us down. It has had a major refurbishment in the last year and is now decked out in modern , stylish clothes. Contemporary art from the area adorns the walls and a huge window lights the friendly space up. Their bitter is sensational. I forget the name of the beer. But whatever it is come from nearby and knocks the socks off the normal rubbish you get. Their chips were the best I've eaten in a pub... ever. Hot, crispy and very potatoey if that's a word. Perfect pub chips. The rest of their menu is seasonal british and I wish we'd had the chance to properly eat there. Sadly we didn't manage to eat there, but we certainly will next time we visit Anglesey.Report this
