Great Chines Food

The red panda is a great restaurant to go to if you're going to a concert or the china. The food is always good and it's served really quickly. The quick service is good if you're in a rush but if you are solely going for a meal and a couple off drinks while you eat they can rush you a bit. It's a quickly in and then on somewhere else restaurant. The chicken curry is really good and the restaurant is nicely decorated & modern looking.Report this

my husband and i thought we would try the red panda one saturday night, truth be told we were not impressed and grudged paying our bill. service was quick but staff were very "sour faced". i think the major disappointment was the cheap cuts of meat used in their chicken and beef dishes.Report this
Fancy a quicky?!

My girlfriend and I were going to a concert in The Odyessey on Friday 23rd January and we fancied going for something nice to eat beforehand. We decided on The Red Panda. We asked for a table, but as we hadn't booked, they said we could only have the table for 45mins and have main course only. We both thought this was fine as we had a concert to go to and only wanted main course anyway. This led to us getting ultra quick service.......No sooner had we sat down and ordered that both our main course meals (and drinks) were in front of us within 15 minutes! You could look at this in two ways:- 1) They wanted rid of us as soon as possible to get more punters in, 2) We wanted something quick to eat so we would have enough time to spare before the concert started. To be honest I did feel swayed towards number 1, as there was always a member of staff near the table lifting empty plates/bowls and felt as if I was having to rush to eat my food more than I wanted to. If you had a table booked they would be doing the same thing, due to previous experiences in their other restaurant in Belfast. But despite all this we both enjoyed our meal (except having to eat it quicker than my normal speed!) and it wouldn't put us off going back. However if you want to take your time eating a Chinese meal, this may not be the place for you.Report this

Good food, good price, only complaints are in the decor and service. The table plan is very compact, no matter which table you sit at you can almost certainly reach over to the table infront, behind and to the sides, this can make you feel very restricted. It almost makes it impossible to have a conversation without at least ten other people also being able to listen in no matter how quietly you speak. The service is probably a controversial point, the waiting staff are quick, polite and pleasant, but there is quite an obvious restaurant policy of clearing tables as quickly as possible. If you like to sit over your meal and take your time dont go here. As soon as your cutlery hit your plate the staff are on top of you trying to take them away. Almost makes you feel unwanted, this is not a staff problem but a restaurant policy. Having said all that the food is superb not a better chinese restaurant in all of Belfast food wise. Very reasonable pricing as well but as in most Chinese restaurants make sure you dont get caught out as prices dont include chips, boiled rice etc.Report this
