Lock Inn review summer 2011
21/05/2011 by CLW
Having been to the Lock in a lot in the past, (and enjoyed it enough each time to return) I was surprised this time I went, as it wasn't rammed, every time I have been before it's been chocker block full of people, some times I've even waited for a table. But this time,( to be fair I should have read the signs and left and gone to the Dandelion instead!) it was empty, no queue for a table, in fact pretty much every table was free and I went at prime time (a warm Friday evening) When the food eventually arrived (it took ages for no apparent reason) it was really nasty, you could tell it was cheap, the baked beans were of the nasty hard variety, chips were over cooked husks that were full of eyes, the scampi was very cheap and tasted manky with all the black veins still intact (yuk). I was really disappointed as the prices have gone up quite a bit too, so I was expecting their usual good turn out, but that was not to be. As I said the lack of people there should have been a give away as it would appear it hasn't been good there for a while, it's a shame as it was good and is in a prime location.Report this
