So much more than a back street pub
Welcome to Cirencester's best kept secret. In the shadow of the parish church tower and just a short stroll from Cirencester's historic market place, The Golden Cross Inn offers a warm welcome to all, from visitors seeking a satisfying pint of ale to discerning diners searching out contemporary British cuisine, and of course to those weary travellers looking for a clean and comfortable night's rest.
While the Inn itself dates from the mid-17th Century, The Golden Cross of today has become well known as a welcoming hostelry offering high levels of service, great contemporary food, good company and comfortable, flexible and well-equipped bedrooms and suites, including a family apartment.
Its central location makes The Golden Cross an ideal base for exploring Cirencester's historic back streets with their eclectic boutiques, galleries, coffee shops and more, while the award-winning Corinium Museum is situated just a stone's throw from our front door.

Great Sunday lunch!
01/02/2012 by cotswolddoctor
We recently went to the Golden Cross for Sunday lunch and have to say it was one of the best I have ever had. Reception was friendly and welcoming and we were seated swiftly although we hadn't booked (the pub was very busy). When our food came it was incredible! A huge plate of roast beef with plenty of veg and a great tasting gravy, fish and chips with chips to die for (the fish was also delightfully tender in a crispy batter) while the aged Ps plumped for fishcakes and bubble and squeak. Desserts were equally scrummy, and we left feeling absolutely satisfied - one of the best sunday lunches ever!Report this
