Fresh Fish Delivered Daily, fried in batter or matzo meal or grilled
We aim to supply the finest fish and chips in the area. All of our fish are from British waters and supplied day fresh, never frozen. The potatoes that make our chips are lifted in Cambridgeshire, then peeled and chipped ourselves. Enjoy, sat in our restaurant for an unhurried, good value dining experience, or alternatively grab a freshly prepared takeaway. We fry in batter, Matzo meal or can grill your fish both sat in the restaurant or to takeaway. We are so proud of the quality of our fish that we have a core of customers who use us as an alternative to their supermarket or fishmongers, buying all their wet fish from us. We can cater for kids parties, quiz night or even dinner parties, give a call to see how we can help. Fish sustainability, whilst very fashionable currently, is something that we have been championing for years. We have an entire menu dedicated to delicious low impact fish and our specials board is often adorned with some interesting catch.

Really disappointing.... if you like your fish and chips then this is not the place for you...it will put you off and I felt quiet unwell from eating the little that I did. I have only selected a one star rating because your unable to leave this area unrated!!!!Report this

Just saw a kids theatre production and went to The Catch afterwards with the cast. Admittedly the were a lot of children, maybe 15 - 20, and about 8 adiults. The kids were all very well behaved - or so I thought!!! It was early, 1730/1800. I have to say that the person who I can only assume was owner or the manager at least was the rudest and most obnoxious man I have ever come across in a restaurant!!! We didn't just go in there for drinks, all the kids had a meal and the adults had at least a starter so they took at minimum £200 from us. He was complaining that the kids were being noisy, he wasn't happy where they were sitting, he didn't like taking our order In the first place. If I had been out with my friends I would have made them go somewhere else. In the end he got me so annoyed with his disgusting rude attitude I walked out - I wish I hadn't already paid my bill!!! The food was ok but it was not worth this mans attitude, I shall never be stepping in that place again and if you want to go out with your kids, this restaurant is not a place to go!!!!Report this

I internet searched 'Fish Restaurants' local to me. Next to 'Cape fish and 'Loch Fyne' was 'The Catch'. I assumed, therefore, that it was similar to those venues (although the £15 a head average price should have warned me). It was - in effect - a chip shop with a restaurant. The staff were prompt to the point of trying to get everything over with quick. Our starters was King Prawns, which we decided to share. When 5 small prawns arrived with a slice of cucumber and a quarter of tomato we should have left immediately! There was no sauce, they had been barely warmed and had a vague strange taste. the starter cost £6.95!!! The main course; me - skate, my wife - sea bream; was OK. The chips mediocre. From where I sat I watched one of the waitresses de-canting the ketchup from old bottles to make them look new. We paid £35 for an average fish and chip meal. We did not leave a tip. More fool us for not being more honest.Report this
