Best Food for Miles
06/02/2009 by Charlie76
The best food for miles I've been eating in this area for ages and had never heard of The Anchor Inn (not to be confused with the one in Sutton Gault). A business associate recommended i visit for lunch and i was not disapointed. Two Courses for £6.99, I had Vietnamese Beef Stew which was rich and aromatic and my friend had the fish and chips which they said was the best they had eaten EVER! After a conversation with one of the friendly staff we discovered that the chef was once on masterchef and had since worked with Brian Turner and was trained to cook fish and chips by The Petrou Bros (Fish and Chips of the year winners) Everything is made on the premises so we opted for 3 scoops of Ice Cream each, my favorite was licorice theirs was Malted Milk. I have since returned in the evening and it was no less amazing with amuse bouche making us feel really special(3 courses £19). Go quickly before the chef moves on!Report this
