Love, love, love

I love the Thai Room, simply because the food is fabulous. I get take away really regularly and it's always good (you can't say that for a lot of take aways), but the food when eaiting in the restaurant is even better. The king prawn red curry is my fave. It's always presented really nicely (think carrot flowers and towers of beans sprouts) and the service is great. I'd agree with others that the ambience isn't great - it's a corridor of a restaurant and one wall is entirely windows, which isn't very cosy.Report this
Table for ten...
20/06/2010 by Schumacher
The reservation was for ten people. The name speaks for itself. The restaurant is tiny. For a group of ten, this was pretty hard as the atmosphere was stagnant, and cramped. We were given one bowl of prawn crackers to the table of Ten. We ordered set menus, and separate meals, rather than starters first. The meal took an hour and a half to get to us. As we had children with us as well this was very unacceptable!!! The service itself was not a problem. The staff were friendly, but we were given no indication of when our meals would be ready and why they were taking so long. Once we had our meals, the portions were very small, and we were almost forced to hurry with our plates being cleared whilst we were eating. All in all, as a hungry group of ten, we did no enjoy the service or the helpings. However, the food was of good standards. but not worth the amount we paid.Report this
Good- slightly quiet

The Thai room is located in Bow Wharf close to Jongleurs/ Bar Risa and Fat Cats. The place is very cosy inside but it always seems to be slightly too quiet. It is such a shame as the food is very good. We have been on a weekend and it was still not that busy. Maybe we have just picked the wrong days/times etc. The food is very reasonable priced and the quality is excellent. The green thai curry is highly recommended. The service was very fast and the staff extremely attentive- however, that may be because the place was so quiet. But as I haven't been when it is busy, I'm not sure what the service would be like. It is in an excellent location and once eaten a trip to Jongleurs is a must as well as a quick trip to Fat Cats too!Report this
