Dishonesty, lack of integrity and poor judgement

I completely agree with you Manuela G... I have to deal with a TW*T, who thought he was a clever guy. Absolutely a time waster; I have to travel to their city airport office twice to end up with no positive result…. Price online said “INclusive VAT” Reservation invoice said “EXclusive VAT”. Worse of all, weekly promotion of £11.42 (VAT Inclusive) as advertised on http://www.shurgard.co.uk/SRP-Step1?search=e142dq for 10sq.ft size unit should work out as: £11.42 * 52weeks /12 months = £49.49 say £49.50 per month. The “clever TW*T”, by some magic work it as £55 per month Excluding VAT; meaning that monthly price comes down to £55 + £55*20% = £55 * 1.2= £66 per month. Furthermore, NO mention of insurance is made on the website and he tries to charge an extra £10 for it on monthly basis. Hence, a difference of £16.5 + £10 insurance, a whopping £26.5 extra expenses every month. It is a complete disgrace, and I would urge Shurgard to review their website prices for transparency and act in ethically responsible way. British families have suffered a lot with irresponsible businesses and it is time to denounce bad business practices and unscrupulous individuals, ready to exploit vulnerable and less informed in society.Report this
Poor security, poor customer service, overpriced

Do not FALL for their attractive offers, they WILL NOT keep their promise.GET EVERYTHING IN WRITTING IF THE QUOTE IS AGREED OVER THE PHONE OR THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. Shurgard offered me a very competitive offer/ quote over the phone with a 1£ offer for the 1st month storage for a 20 ft sq box. When I agreed and made my first payment by card over the phone, I never received the said quote and proof of payment by email as I requested. When I went to sign the contract and collect keys, it took 15 minutes to the receptionist to find out who I was and what happened to my payment or alleged contract. No trace on their system. He had no idea what he was doing either, he was rude, I panicked as I thought I gave my credit card details to a random scammer. He finally found my details as dealt by a colleague from another branch. My secure pin didnt work when set up and the receptionist had to reset it. it took forever, obviously zero customer service from day one. The building doesnt look secure to me and the door to the storage unit could easily be broken into I reckon.Locks provided are rubbish.I was not even provided with the options to make online payments or secure a direct debit, vaguely told to check on the website. I found out I had been convinced to take a storage box that is way bigger than my needs, and surprisingly the price the second month was 100£ when I was told over the phone it would be 75£ plus 10£ for insurance. When I complained, I was rudely told this would not stand on their side as I signed a contract. But the price on my contract is excluding VAT and the 100£ charged monthly is not even a legal close match to their irrelevant explanation. I gave notice and will go to competitors. This goes to Trading Standards and Ombudsman for review. A complete disgrace from start to finish.Report this
