Near the sea but not for me

This hotel is right on the sea front so ideal location however i wouldn't stay again. The hotel was under refurbishment when i stayed and this meant all the communal areas were covered in scaffolding. The room was very basic and seemed a little dirty. i had to keep asking for things that were missing from the room like towels etc. The breakfast wasn't that great, very basic and not very tasty. the breakfast room was packed so it meant the tables hadn't be cleared from the people before. The room was cheap on line, but that doesn't really justify the average stay.Report this

This is a great hotel, just been fully refurbed. We where treated very well, our room was exellent and modern will new bathroom, air con, and great views. The manager and staff coudnt do enough for you and where there at every mealtime helping you in any way they could, the were great. The food was very good with good choiches at both breakfast and evening meal served buffet style. The bars are very nice wth views out to sea and Brighton Pier as is the dining room and lounge, with new comfortable seating both with same view. The Royal Albion is a hotel I would recommend. We went with National Holidays at a bugdet price. Dont take any notice of the bad reviews, perhaps they should try it now!Report this

this hotel is right on the sea front on the busy main road, so do not book in here if you want a quiet nights sleep. Mind you most of the hotels in brighton are on this busy sea front so you will have the same busy traffic noise till late at night. The hotel itself is old fashioned in decor and some of the basement rooms are really very dingy and musty smelling. Go for a good old sea view and book on the internet if you can to get a much much cheaper rate than if you just walk in off the street. There are worse places to stay in brighton and the breakfast is ok, but you do need to think about how much it will cost you to park your car and add this to you costs..Report this
