Uncaring Head Vet
10/11/2012 by GMStephenson
I have used this veterinary practice for many years with no complaint and have always found the staff to be very helpful and supportive, however this week I had the destressing task of taking my cat to the practice for emergency treatment after he collapsed at home with breathing difficulties. I explained my concerns to the reception staff on my arrival at the practice which was between surgery hours. I saw Julia the head vet at the back of the practice and the receptionist went to tell her of my arrival. I was astounded when the receptionist then came back to inform me that she would call the emergency vet as Julia had left the practice. It took a further 50 minutes for the emergency vet to arrive, I have no problem with the treatment my cat eventually received only that the vet who was onsite at the time of my arrival decided that she had more important things to do than treat my cat in an emergency. If you are happy to take your pet for routine appointments then I have no problems in recommending this practice, if however you wish to be given priority by the head vet in case of an emergency than my personal recommendation would be to register somewhere else. I spoke to Julia the practice owner and head vet who left the practice when I most needed her and her response was that she has a private life and was already late leaving the practice. I was devestated by her lack of compassion. I have now moved my pets to another practice and I would not wish anyone to be experience the lack of emergency care I received.Report this
