Worst experience I've ever had regarding hiring ANYTHING. We hired a van to leave at 8.30am. First off, they displayed the wrong documents you'd need for proof of ID on their website. We brought a passport and a driving license from half an hour's drive away to be told we needed a utility bill. When it was disputed that they didn't request this on their website (to which the woman was adamant they did), an older guy piped up that the same thing had happened to him a week previous. They made us drive back, which is about an hour's drive to and from. Upon arrival we were told that the van we had hired wasn't clean (the van that we waited on being brought round that would only "be 5 minutes"), outside and inside was disgusting, and that we'd then have to wait around in the office on it being cleaned (25 minutes) despite them having the full hour we were driving to prepare it. So comes 10am, an hour and a half after we were meant to leave, and we're getting in the van (finally) when we get the keys taken off us and told we hadn't paid! We had booked it all online! They then proceeded to make us wait on confirmation we had paid from an office, despite having the confirmation email on our phone as proof. We finally left around 10.40, sick of the sight of them. Everything was fine when we got back, until 2 weeks later we get £215 taken out of our bank account. They're now claiming the van was EMPTY of fuel, despite us filling it with around £150 worth of diesel. We made numerous attempts to contact them (after receiving the invoice for £215) and was told each time to wait on a phonecall that never came before they took the money out with no contact or enquiry. We phoned them and were eventually told that they "usually" refund. How many people are they charging for this? It's a scam. This company is singlehandedly the most incapable when it comes to every aspect of their business, preparation, confirmation, and a total pain in the backside to deal with. Even after dealing with them, we're still having hassle 2 weeks later, and will now be waiting 10 days (10 days!?) to get our money back, the money they weren't entitled to take in the first place.
