A Place well worth visiting!

After having had quite a few recommendations of this bar/restaurant, we decided to pay it a visit!!! The first time we came (well now it has become a firm favourite of ours!), it was a Sunday. And of course we both fancied a roast dinner! Wow!! The North Pole definately serves the best roasts in the area! We didnt actually eat in the restaurant on this day as the jazz band were setting up and we didnt want to miss them! they were brilliant! A must-see!!! And to top it all off the cocktails were just amazing! With reasonable prices too!! To top it all off, I would recommend this place to anybody wanting tasty food, a good atmosphere and brilliant service!Report this

Having not long ago moved to SE8 development we were keen to try the local restaurants/pubs. The N.P was recommended by other friends and we were not disappointed. The food is first class and the service too. It really is a cut better than the tourist drab in town centre and even the offerings of the Inc chain that have no personal touch. The manager Mr Kumar was delightful and we even ventured down to the bar that I have heard mixed reviews about but can safely say that whilst the clientele is somewhat younger the ambience is great and very friendly and the never-ending 2for1 cocktails made it an overall treat of a night - a new firm favourite and well worth a vist!Report this
Disappointing Bar Great restaurant

Ater visiting the restaurant, the bar is load, empty and pumping dresadful dance music - go to the restaurant, not the bar! The piano Restaurant on the other hand is a joy. There is always a pianist tinkling the ivories. This is unintrusive and relaxing. The food is exellant and fresh. Full of flavour and beatifully presented.Report this

This is another one of those pubs that has dragged itself into the 21st century. This used to be an empty sole less pub, with a few youths, and the odd OAP sat in the corner, but as Greenwich has changes thankfully so has the north pole, today you find an appealing little place, finding its footing into the gastro pub world, it offers good reasonably priced food, in a quiet friendly atmosphere. A good range of ales and lagers. it is positioned on greenwich high road but past the train station, heading out of greenwich, so it tends to miss the passing tourist trade.all in all a nice place for a relaxing time and good food.Report this

Serving truly outstanding Modern European cuisine The North Pole Bar and Restaurant offers pure elegance at its finest. With the best cocktails in town, an excellent choice of fine wine and champagne, the favourite premium draught beers and of course their outstanding food. The restaurant really does enjoy providing their customers with a wide variety of drinks and food, but most of all enjoy seeing their customers sampling their delights in the coolest of surroundings. The North pole offers something for everyone, eat drink and party all under one roof! Enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail in the funky North Pole bar and at the end of the night head down to the futuristic basement DJ bar the ´South Pole´ to dance the night away! The Bar also has Pianists playing Thursday - Sunday, to the award winning Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra tribute nights on the last Wednesday of every month and they even let all children eat for free on a Sunday! The Piano Restaurant is a stones throw away from Greenwich station and sits comfortably away from the main hub of Greenwich tourist life. A refreshing , friendly and local atmosphere ensures you will receive a warm welcome on arrival and being Greenwich´s hippest hangout, will ensure you will come back time and time again. There is also a private room in the North Pole Bar, with funky cowhide sofas, plasma TV screens and bubble tank windows. A perfect way to spend the evening and this room is also available for hire free of charge. Chef´s Speciality Dish: Roasted breast of Barbary duck served with creamed herb polenta, confit duck and foie gras ravioli and port sauce.Report this
