Awful food and service!
20/12/2012 by SteveRoberts
My wife and I went to Manolo's to celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary. We fancied something different and hadn't eaten in Truro for some time. I booked over the phone and spoke to some of Spanish origin so I was expecting authentic cuisine and bright friendly service delivered the Spanish way. What we got was very poor waitress service - we had to ask for drinks - no plates to eat with and disjointed service with starters and mains coming together. The waitress was English and just uninterested in providing any sort of customer service. The food was poor quality and we sent one of the dishes back as it was watery and lacked any taste. At £30 for a copule of drink and 4-5 sides of Tapas this was a dining experience we will want to forget in a hurry. When we went to pay I informed the Spanish staff member of our poor dining experience and got a mumbled apology - no enquiry as to why or how this could be improved for next time. In fact down right rude would be closer to the mark.Report this
Authentic Tapas with Real Spanish Service

What a breath of fresh air. Fantastic, authentic Spanish tapas, with the added bonus of Spanish staff who are attentive and knowledgeable. My clients loved it too, and it was a perfect atmosphere for business in a relaxed setting. I will be taking more clients there soon.Report this

Amasing place to eat, small dish cost £3.50 and large £7.00, so not really difficult to comprehend how much it will cost. Such good value for money, glass of wine around £3.00 and a jug of sangria £9.00. The food is cooked fresh is day so there is always something new to try. You can request a certain type of pialla in advance, and the specials especially suckling pig is to die for!! Its the perfect place to quickly get some food before going to the Hall for Cornwall or to spend the evening catching up with friends.Report this
Dinner at Manolo's

What a wonderful new restaurant to visit in Truro. The welcome we had was way beyond expectations. The concept of Tapas in Truro in the environment of this restaurant was as good as being in Spain! The experience of genuine Spanish waiters and excellent food was a real pleasure. We all thoroughly enjoyed our variety of tasty food washed down with good quality Spanish wines. We returned a second time and the experience was enjoyed even more. We recommend this restaurant and simply cannot agree at all with the first review given above for this eating venue in TruroReport this
Great expectations,but very disappointed.

We took the family for a tapas treat but came away very disappointed. The whole party found the food exceedingly oily and of poor quality for the price. We were told beforehand that there would be lots of meat-free dishes; this was true if you liked one of the three potato dishes- as there was little else! We felt the menu was misrepresented just to get us through the door. We were given a measley amount of bread between us and no olives in sight;despite the lovely surroundings, Spanish generosity certainly wasn't on the menu! Although the waiters were cheerful, the service was poor- the system of what you got for your money wasn't explained and the bill when it came was shocking. We certainly won't be going back again and we wouldn't recommend Manolos !Report this
