Brilliant Martial Art

I've been going for over 2 years now and absolutely love it. I normally go for about 3.5 hours a week (2 sessions). Since joining my fitness level has improved massively and I have learnt so much. 50 push ups and 50 sit ups seems like an absolute breeze. Don't let that put you off though. You are expected to perform to your ability. As long as you try hard, then you will have a brilliant time. KSW is the only thing that I do for fitness The self defence techniques are probably one of the best bits and you are constantly learning new ones. But the use of traditional weapons like the staff and the dualbong (nunchuck) is really great fun as well. Would recommend it to anyone. The instructors are all really enthusiastic and encouraging and seem to very much enjoy what they are doing.Report this
Fun and worth every penny

this is proper martial arts. whoever said it's "not real life" has clearly seen too much jackie chan. whats good about kuk sool is that it doesnt matter how strong you are, what size or what gender because the techniqes they use work with the leverage effect and pressure points. You get your fitness too, but thats part of any martial art. in order to improve.Report this

My husband, 2 kids and I have been attending Kuk Sool Won Livingston for a year now. We find the lead instructors, approachable, honest and inclusive and never make you feel undervalued. They help you train at your own pace, whatever your level taking the time to work with individuals who need that little bit of extra support The higher belts are fantastic, as well as being really talented people who train hard, they are also helpful, encouraging & take time to work with new students. I really like that Kuk Sool covers so many different disciplines. It's practical, and the techniques work well. They include strikes & kicks, balance, joint locks, pressure points, weapons practice & more. Awesome place to train and increase your fitness levels, also a very addictive sport to participate in!!!!Report this

Comprehensive Martial Arts system

Myself and my 4yr old daughter went along to Kuk Sool Won, looking for something we could both get something out of. That was over 2 years ago and my 4yr old son now attends classes too. The family that trains together, grows together. KSW is a comprehensive martial arts system covering, kicks, punches, blocks, throws, pins, pressure points, joint locks, grappling, acrobatics, but if that's not enough, then when you've mastered the basics, there's weapons training too. The instructors are second to none, everyone at the club is super friendly, with all ages and abilities equally welcome, so come along give it a try.Report this

A well rounded martial art club!

Having done Kickboxing, I was looking for something that involved various disciplines. Initially I was not too sure about Kuk Sool Won because it seemed to involve a lot of acrobats. I spoke to the instructor and he advised me to do what I can. So, I gave it a try. Kuk Sool Won offers forms, techniques, sparring, pressure points, self-defence and various weapons. So I found the diversity I was looking for and the cost of the classes are reasonable. My fitness is improving and I am slowly able to do more and more acrobatic activity. The club itself has a fun side too! I have taken part in karting, beach BBQ's, after grading parties, Christmas parties and camping (to name a few). This was something that my previous club never offered. The club also actively takes part in tournaments which is a great way for me to see how well I am doing against other students who practice Kuk Sool Won at my belt level. The people at the club are of all ages and are a friendly and supportive bunch. This made me feel welcome when I first started and now I love it! Come along and give it a try!Report this
