Horrible people not nice and cheecky
22/04/2012 by Lola74
I am not writing to be horrible but just need to be honest and let you all know my experience: Not nice people, I didn't like my meal and instead of apologizing they told me not to come back and go somewhere else lol this people have no idea about customer services. Anyway plenty of restaurants in Canterbury they are not the only one. Shame because they used to be good and now I will never go back. I don't know if they had a different chef that day but it wasn't nice at all. I was only trying to be honest so they could improve. I think most of people who write positive reviews must get extra discounts from them to do so. I refuse to write a fake review. I am really really disappointed by the way they treated me and my friend. I must say they scarred me. My friend went into shock and didn't move or speak. The manager didn't like my comment and got the other men to come to see us and they told us never come back go somewhere else they were trying to make cry or scared, I don't know... you are not welcome here again they said. lol what a bunch of unprofessional men. And I am sorry they are not real "men" 5 men VS ME??? I am petite that is not nice. i WOULD NEVER NEVER NEVER GO BACK TO KASHMIR RESTAURANT NEVER!!!!Report this
I really love this restaurant
13/03/2011 by steve_petter
I really loved this restaurant when I went along for a meal with my father today. My father has eaten fine cuisine the world over, and said he would rate kashmir tandoori highly too. We had the garlic chili chiken which was very yummy, , and it was the perfect amount of food with a lovely, flavour packed taste, tasting very fresh. The profiteroles for dessert were absolutely delicious!! I have a very sweet tooth, and love my desserts and this was one of the best i've had. Only problem is, I struggled to eat the final one of the three because they are very rich, but one cannot complain about that - just have to share...if your feeling generous! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant, the staff were lovely and very helpful, and we were not kept waiting at any time - but I would say perhaps the female staff could be a bit more confident and as friendly as the male staff, as they didn't seem as willing to help and were more interested in socializing. Also, there's a lovely view of the indian picture in the restaurant, which on a nice day would make it even more special. It was great eveningReport this

I had a wonderful experience at kashmir tandoori. The food was very good, quick service but not rushed and a lovely atmosphere. The icing on the cake is the staff- smiles all round and a very attentive. It is so rare to be served by genuinely happy staff and it make the meal so much more enjoyable. Highly recomended This restaturant is Est snice 1966 one of the oldest in kent and mabe uk ....no wonder its is gold :)Report this
Best Indain restaurant bye far!

I travel 35 miles twice a week. realy good. Some friends of ours invited us to join them at the kashmir, I was so impressed it stood above all the Indian restaurants I have tried in the kent, and from that night we have been hooked! Taking the kids at the weekend. Very friendly staff always making you welcome and the owner has always come to our table to say hello each time we have been, not something I have had anywhere else. The food is the best quality, fresh and cooked to perfection. Saturday evenings are hectic but they still get it right. 10/10 - keep doing what your doing.d food . should try this place out !Report this
A well priced upmarket student takeaway
06/02/2011 by SamRSparrow
This was always a favourite whilst at University, and it hasn't changed whenever I go back for student visits. Good curry is served right here, and although they do a great line in take away and deliveries, this place is also good on its restaurant service. Small and intimate sum the place up. The service is not too bad - I always try something different here when I go, and they give helpful suggestions. The portions are huge for the price and they don’t whack the price up on the drinks bill either.Report this

A terrible evening. Twelve of us booked a table for 8 but no food had arrived by 10.20 other than poppodums. We then left. To start with we were squeezed onto a table that was barely large enough. The service was non-existent although our order was at least taken. No one took any notice of us otherwise. The poppodums were accompanied by tasteless dishes that were bright pink and white. The toilets were also disgusting. Ironic that we never tasted any curry on a curry night but my hopes would not have been high if anything had eventaully materialised. Please stay away.Report this
Fantastic curry, get a takeaway!
13/03/2009 by MrMasala
The curry here can be absolutely great, better than my favourite place, The Ancient Raj, at times. They have a very wide choice, and a lot of vegetarian options too. I have eaten here more times than I can remember. However, be warned that I have had a few dodgy curries - uncooked lumps of potato are not nice, and charcoal style naan did not really make a great side dish. However, the location is (currently) not so great. The restaurant is very cramped, and you are really packed in! It is clean though, and they are having an extension built, so hopefully it won't be so bad soon. The place is always rowdy on a friday or saturday night, and so be warned. The main problem here is the staff. When in a large group, they have tried to make us move tables mid meal as they had overbooked! They also attempted to overcharge us (by about 25% - £30) on one instance, but this may have been a genuine mistake. The staff can also be pretty rude, but have been much improved the last couple of times I've visited.Report this

The Kashmir tandoori has a good reputation with the locals, its not my faourite in Canterbury, although i know many people would disagree. I would reccommend people try the chicken garlic masala it is absoltly gorgeous, and the meat just melts in your mouth. The staff are polite, helpful and attentive The restaurant is clean and comfatable. They do loads of special offers, so its worth checking there website out from time to time.... they 9/10 advertise their specials on there. I would say its a very high standard establishment and definatly worth a try.Report this

I have visited this restaurant a couple of times, having been taken there by friends. I would happily go back often, just don't get the chance at the moment! Very busy, noisy (with chattering clientele), quite crowded, but not in a bad way. Food orders are taken quickly so they expect you to more or less know what you want when you get there! I usually choose jalfrezi or dopiaza. I'm probably making the place sound dire but it is a great place and the food is fabulous and arrives very quickly. We weren't hurried out despite an evergrowing queue outside. I'm not sure if our friends booked, but if you can book in advance, I would. If not, I'd recommend getting there early!Report this
