Repulsive doesn't come close to describing how i feel about this restaurant. In the duration of my dining experience I witnessed 3 sets of customers leave having discussed the appalling quality of their food with the manager, one couple was so furious they refused to pay and threatened to stand at the top of the street warding away potential customers, and I soon found out why. I was given a main course immediately after my starter, which was clearly microwaved leftovers, along with soggy potatoes and rice. Words cannot describe the quality of this food, but to say the place should be shut down or burnt to the ground would be suitable. Horrendous, vomit inducing nightmare of a place. STAY CLEAR! any good review are probably ones they put on here.Report this
Best Greek food I've had

I've travelled around quite a bit and I've had a lot of Greek food and this is by far the best Greek restaurant I've been to. The one place I've never visited is Greece and I suspect that the only place I would top this food is in Greece. I recommend this place to everyone I know that visits London. This place skips the cheap adolescent hype that others bring in to replace what their food lacks and what you get is an honest, authentic dish that is nothing more or less than some of the best Greek food out there. If I had the money I would fly to London a couple times every month just to eat there.Report this

Pretty boring food, may be thats greek food in general. Staff fairly random, neither good or bad. Added 10% service and wouldnt take it off. Also free-pouring spirits. No measures what so ever, no pour spout on the bottle. And then had the cheek to ask for a tip. Dont know if its usually like this, but I'd avoid it!Report this

Kalamaras - The oldest Greek Taverna welcomes tastelondoners and promises you all a genuine experience of real Greek food and hospitality. Kalamaras Restaurant was established in Bayswater in 1966 and was made famous by the Beatles, Mick Jagger, Dusty Springfield, Peter Sellers and many other icons of that time. In the years since it has catered to a wide range of clients including actors, models as well as the local Greek community. Kalamaras´ long-standing reputation as 'London´s finest Greek restaurant', 'a hidden jewel in the backstreets of Bayswater', will no doubt be enhanced by the stunning new décor, using the blue and white colours of the Greek islands. The restaurant was extensively renovated in 2003, enlarging the dining room and introducing the new Mediterranean look. Diners will enjoy the authentic flavours of Greece, as only the freshest and finest ingredients are used, served in a relaxed setting. The restaurant is fully licensed with a wide range of the finest Greek wines.Report this
